SEC North East regional group – Meeting Report
March 23 2009
At the SEC North East's group's spring meeting, members discussed how a soon-to-be-retiring head teacher could start up a consultancy. They also gave her some advice on where she might look for work in the areas she would like to be involved in, namely part-time interim work and international work. Dubai was one suggestion. Two members – one a drama expert and the other a creative agent - also gave her leads for creative work in her current school. "We swapped info about some upcoming stress management training that another member was running," said SEC Committee member Barbara Roberts. "And we discussed providing coaching and mentor training for teaching support workers in secondary schools."
The group also debated the forthcoming agenda for the next full SEC committee meeting, including an in-depth discussion on the new vision, the audit/action plan for development, expansion of the society and website improvements.
The group's next meeting takes place in the foyer of the The Village Hotel, Shiremoor, North Tyneside, NE27 0BY, on Wednesday 29 April at 6.30 pm. The venue is on the A19, close to Tyne Tunnel - handy for Newcastle, Sunderland and Northumberland. Any members or visitors wishing to go along for the first time are asked to contact Barbara Roberts (Tel 0191 5101318 or email info@aidanconsulting.co.uk) so that the group can look out look out for them.
Join us on Friday November 25, 2011, to meet colleagues and discuss latest developments in education consultancy in a unfolding national context.
