The Way We Work: excellence in consulting
Chris Kirk
Chris has experienced both sides of the consultant/ client relationship within the education sector. He was an official within the Department for Education and Skills and its agencies from the mid 1990s, working with the Funding Agency for Schools, the Dearing Review of Higher Education and the Standards and Effectiveness Unit.
From 2000 he worked within PricewaterhouseCoopers’ public sector advisory practice as a Director, leading major education sector assignments. These have included the Teacher Workload Study, the Behaviour Improvement Programme and a number of organisational reviews of bodies such as Becta, the Learning and Skills Council and the Qualifications and Curriculum Authority.
He is currently back in the public sector, seconded to the National College of School Leadership as their Director of Succession Planning. His role is to secure the leadership of our schools now and in the future, by delivering a collaborative programme with local authorities, diocesan education boards, the teaching and headteaching unions and professional associations.
Chris is passionate about the use of evidence to develop policy, and the understanding of the rational, emotional and political aspects of change to ensure its effective delivery.
