Paul Herbert
Paul Herbert is General Secretary of the Society of Education Consultants. His background is in journalism. He worked for two regional evening newspapers, before freelancing for a number of national publications, including the TES.
Since 2000, he has established his business, Edge Media, as specialists in communications and PR for schools in both the independent and maintained sectors (although the business also has some non-school clients). Its work involves advising schools on their communications strategies, as well as designing and delivering products such as newsletters, websites and prospectuses. Paul works with his wife, Jan, who is a former Senior Broadcast Journalist with the BBC. The Edge Media team also includes a part-time graphic designer, an office manager and a bookkeeper.
Paul is a committed Christian. In his spare time, he is involved in establishing a new church based in Dursley, Gloucestershire, working with the West of England Baptist Association. He has also been involved in the campaign to save the cinema in his home town of Wotton-under-Edge.
