Barbara Roberts works in both an independent and associative capacity. She is happy to provide advice, mentoring, support, coaching and training for school staff and governing bodies, universities (ITT), colleges and basic skills providers / assessors and educational staff recruitment agencies.

Barbara’s multi-faceted career encompasses many areas of education, coaching, mentoring, research and business. She is renowned for her clarity of thought and for possessing the flexibility necessary to successfully transfer key knowledge and skills into new contexts and environments with creativity and enthusiasm.
Recent major work:
2006-present: Running HE courses at Sunderland City College in Early Years Management, in Development & Care and in Supporting Teaching & Learning in Schools.
2006-present: Working associatively with both Newcastle and Sunderland Universities on their PGCE programmes. Has included running a range of lectures and workshops, as well as visiting students in placement to assess their teaching and working together with school mentors to develop key strengths.
2008-present: Co-writing practical support materials for schools on behalf of Forum Business Media in the area of Performance Management, building on the previous writing of cross-curricular materials for primary and secondary schools.
2006-present: Delivering the Head Coach programme through Aidan Consulting, working in association with PRF Solutions and 4-Word. The Head Coach is a package of professional development coaching designed especially for head teachers and senior managers in schools.
2009: Appointed as a Director of an Academy School in Sunderland.
Previous experience and background:
Barbara established Aidan Consulting in 2006. She was previously a successful Primary Headteacher in two schools over 12 years, with accreditation as an Ofsted Inspector, Performance Consultant and Consultant Leader.
