Provides consultancy on safe practice and dealing with challenging and difficult behaviour. Offers advice and training on health and safety perspectives of staff safety, safe working systems, S550a Education Act protocols and practical application of S547 Education Act.
Government Guidelines/Physical Intervention: Training is based upon current guidelines and consistent with materials suggested by government. Courses which include effective risk assessment and behaviour management are presented taking account of pupils with special needs. Physical intervention training can also be provided linked to individualised management plans for difficult pupils considering effective strategies and planning.
Course Presentation: Courses are presented on a one-day basis, on site and focussed for the individual school. Numbers would normally be set at around 16. Groups can be representative of the whole school including reception and other non-teaching staff. Full physical intervention training would need to be individually discussed.
Previous experience
A police officer for 29 years and a qualified teacher working closely with schools in East London dealing with the problems of intrusion and trespass.
